Specs.  What are they?  Why do they matter?  Best we can tell they are a set of detailed instructions to guide the GC and Subcontractor to create the designers intended work.  However, sometimes they don’t really apply, and here’s why:

Who enforces the spec?  The GC?  The Architect?  As long the they are happy with the result do they even care?  In our industry there are dozens of specs foe essentially the same thing.  Everyone trying to own the process
